Consolidation day in US stocks; Low volumen

FXStreet (San Francisco) - The US stocks market closed mixed on Wednesday in a low volume day with the SPX trading under 400 million shares for 7th straight day.

The S&P closed above the 2,000 level for second day; however the total gain was just half basis point from 2,000.02 yesterday to 2,000.12 today.

The Dow Jones advanced 15.31 pts or 0.09% to close at 17,122.01; while the Nasdaq Composite declined 1.02 pts or 0.02% to end the day at 4,569.62.
