Markets: Key events in the week ahead – Deutsche Bank

Deutsche Bank analysts point out that the UK Conservative Party will begin the process of selecting a new leader, while British lawmakers are expected to question Huawei executives on security.

“Tuesday: Data in Europe includes the May Bank of France industrial sentiment reading, April/May employment data in the UK and the June Sentix investor confidence reading for the Euro Area. In the US, the May NFIB small business optimism reading and May PPI report are. Away from that the BoE's Tenreyro is due to speak, while the ECB's Rehn, Knot and Nowotny are due to speak.”

“Wednesday: The highlight will likely be the May CPI report in the US. Prior to that we'll get the May CPI and PPI figures in China, while the May monthly budget statement is also due in the US. Meanwhile, the ECB's Draghi, Guindos, Coeure and IMF's Lagarde all speak at an event in Frankfurt. Japan PM Abe is due to meet Iran leader Khamenei.”

“Thursday: The UK Conservative Party is expected to hold the first leadership contest. Away from that, Euro Area finance ministers meet to discuss Italy and the Euro Area budget. Meanwhile, data releases include the Q2 BSI survey in Japan, final May CPI revisions in Germany, April industrial production for the Euro Area and May import price index and weekly jobless claims in the US.”

Friday: The focus overnight will be on the May activity indicators data in China. In Europe we'll get final May CPI revisions in France and Italy while US data includes May retail sales, May industrial production, April business inventories and preliminary May University of Michigan consumer sentiment survey. The BoE's Carney is also due to speak.”
