EUR futures: rallies appear unsustainable

According to advanced figures for EUR futures markets from CME Group, investors scaled back their open interest positions by nearly 1.5K contracts on Thursday vs. Wednesday’s final 528,608 contracts. Volume, instead, rose sharply by around 67.5K contracts.

EUR/USD faces strong resistance around 1.1400

EUR/USD briefly tested and retreated from fresh tops beyond 1.1400 the figure on Thursday amidst a down tick in open interest and a moderate increase in volume. That said, further consolidation looks the most likely scenario in the near term, while bullish attempts should meet strong hurdle in the 1.1400 neighbourhood.

AUD/USD struggles near weekly lows, just below 0.7100 handle
