NZD/USD forecast at 0.72, 3-M view - Westpac

FXStreet (Barcelona) - Imre Speizer of Westpac, shares the forecast for NZD/USD, expecting a move lower towards 0.72 over 3months and 0.71 after 1 year.

“3 months ahead: Lower to at 0.72 . At the OCR Review on 30 April, the RBNZ is likely to voice its discomfort with the high trade-weighted NZD.”

“Also, NZ’s economic data pulse should soon start to slip. Q1 GDP (released in June) should be weak (drought effects)., and Q2 CPI is expected to remain near zero.”

As per the data released by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), speculators increased their overall bullish bets sharply in WTI crude oil futures last week for a third consecutive week and to the highest level since February.
