Focus on US real activity data - RBS
FXStreet (Bali) - There will be renewed focus on US real activity data on Thursday, with the release of industrial production, the Philadelphia Fed index, and weekly initial jobless claims.
Key Quotes
"There will likely continue to be a heightened focus on US real activity data, and US September industrial production (IP), the Philadelphia Fed index, and the latest weekly initial jobless claims may take on greater importance."
"While the headline ISM manufacturing index underwhelmed in September, the production subindex did rise to its highest level since 2010, which bodes well for manufacturing production."
"We anticipate US IP will rebound 0.3% m/m, offsetting the 0.1% decline in August. Initial jobless claims may hold below 300K and stay in line with the recent trend, which may also alleviate concerns about a potential labour market slowdown in the US."
"The Philadelphia Fed index is released for October as well after the Empire State index plunged."
