EUR/USD climbs to fresh highs ahead of US data

FXStreet (Córdoba) - EUR/USD moved off the 1.2650 area and climbed to 1.2675 reaching a fresh daily high ahead of the release of US economic data that includes retail sales and the PPI index.

The pair holds near the highs as the USD falls versus European currencies despite a decline in stocks in Europe and also in Wall Street futures. The FTSE 100 and the Dax are losing more than 1% while Dow Jones futures are down 0.8%.

EUR/USD levels to watch

To the upside, potential resistance levels lie at 1.2700 and above here at 1.2730/35 and 1.2765 (Oct 13 high). To the downside, support might lie at 1.2635 (session low), 1.2623 (daily low), 1.2600/05 (Oct 10 low) and 1.2580/85 (Oct 1, 7 low).

Gold recovers losses

Gold prices are trading near USD 1230/Oz levels after the metal bounced back from the support level of USD 1225/Oz hit earlier today.
