ECB's Draghi: Need for integrating statistical and supervisory data
FXStreet (Łódź) - Speaking at a Statistics Conference in Frankfurt, ECB president Mario Draghi said that that the recent expansion of the central bank's responsibilities calls for a more comprehensive and efficient mode of collecting statistical data.
The big challenge will also be "the reconciliation of statistical information collected in support of monetary policy and financial stability with the up-to-now rather separate world of supervisory information," the ECB head suggested.
If the integration of this data is done correctly it should ensure consistency of the data, improve its flow and assist with policymaking.
